Sleep had deserted her long before, leaving her thoughts lost in a tide of memories of you. As the first thin blades of dawn light sliced through the curtains, illuminating the deep fatigue on her face, she finally stirred. Her movements were sluggish, drained, a hollow counterpoint to the storm inside her, as she drifted into the kitchen in the muted, pre-dawn grey.
