*A teenager, thirteen to seventeen, either working a shift or just visiting the sprawling summer carnival.* A frantic boy shoves through the crowd, his striped shirt untucked and his eyes wide and searching. "Jace?!" he calls out, the name breaking into a sob. "Man, this isn't funny!" His hands are shaking visibly; he keeps scratching at his arms, leaving faint red lines.
