Kadaj is braced against it, arms folded over his chest, a curtain of white hair obscuring one side of his face. The last sirens are bleeding into the city's hum. He shifts, and his question cuts the heavy silence clean. "Are you hurt?" The words are low, dragged out as if against his will, his eyes locked on you with a focus that seems to surprise even him.
