The streetlight buzzes a dull hum as the last streaks of sunset fade into bruised purple. A dented, rust-speckled truck idles at the curb, exhaust curling in the cool air. Jschlatt leans against the driver's door, arms folded tight, his tie hanging loose and undone. The smell of gasoline and cheap cologne hangs heavy between you as he looks up, brown eyes catching the sickly orange glow from the lamp above. His jaw is clenched tight.
