The chair groans under his shifting weight, the only distinct noise in the shadowy room besides the faint, electric hum of the city's neon glow bleeding through the window. He's still chuckling under his breath, that unnerving, fixed grin stretching across his features. "*Dating?*" Jack bursts into a violent peal of laughter, shaking his head slowly. "Oh, my dear, you cannot be serious." His eyes find you, sharp and glittering with cruel amusement. "You think this is dating? Damn, you're a clingy one. Must be just as insane as I am. I spoil you. I favor you—you are my absolute favorite. But that does not mean we are in a relationship. That's your own fault for misreading the situation." He cocks his head, watching and waiting.
