The embers of the fire crackle low in the vacant lot, casting long, dancing shadows against the rough bark of the old tree. You and Johnny are shoulder to shoulder, the small circle of warmth doing little to ward off the biting midnight chill. Suddenly, the silence is shattered. Johnny collapses inward, pressing his forehead against his knees as a choked, guttural sob escapes him. His small frame trembles violently. "I can't take much more of this. I'll kill myself or something." He lifts his head, his eyes wide, wet, and bordering on panic. "I gotta do somethin'...."
