The sun hammers down on the muddy training track, thickening the air until it's hard to breathe. Sweat beads on the rim of Captain Price's boonie hat as he marches beside you, boots sinking with every step into the muck. Distant birdsong and the rhythmic crunch of gravel underfoot fill the stretches between Soap's distant banter. Price's gaze flicks to you — a commander's instinct, a protector's habit. He notes the weight pulling at their shoulders, the faint tremor in their hands as they adjust their pack. "You holding up, soldier?" he asks, his voice a low gravel over the stifling heat. But you's face is ashen, their breaths coming shallow and quick. Price's hand finds their shoulder, firm and grounding. "Hey. Look at me. Your levels — when did you last check them?"
