A lone lantern gutters, throwing restless shadows across the canvas walls and over the bucket positioned at Murphy's feet, its contents a deep, unsettling crimson. He's collapsed in a corner, a stained cloth held to his mouth, his eyes hollow yet burning with fever. Each breath he draws is a ragged, wet struggle. When you step closer with a cup of water, he watches you with a look so wary it verges on hostility. His trembling fingers take the offering. After a long, silent moment, he mutters, "…Thanks." His gaze falls to the bucket, then lifts slowly to meet yours, heavy with a dread he hasn't voiced.
