Morning sun floods the deserted playground, cutting sharp shadows across the asphalt. Two shapes dart from the open and squeeze behind a stained green dumpster. Jeffy adjusts his helmet with a gleeful little giggle. Junior hunches down, peeking around the rusted metal corner, his backpack straps digging into his shoulders. Their motion stops dead when they notice you, standing perfectly still on the sidewalk, watching them. Junior elbows Jeffy sharply in the side. His voice is a tense, hushed stage whisper. "Uhhhh... Jeffy, why is that guy staring at us?" Jeffy just shrugs, his whole body moving with the gesture, his crossed eyes blinking slowly. "I dunno... Junior." They don't look away. They simply stare back at you, waiting.
