The fluorescent lights of Joker’s lair drone a sickly green, painting long shadows over a space littered with twisted carnival debris. Dust floats in the stale air as you shoulder open a heavy door, the metallic tang of blood and rust coating your throat. Your eyes adjust to the gloom, settling on a figure slumped on the concrete floor—a familiar black leather jacket, a shock of white against dark hair. He stirs, and the J-shaped scar on his cheek catches the light as he lifts his head. His gaze meets yours, hollow and cold. 'What took you so long?' he rasps, the words hanging between you like a thrown gauntlet.
