Pale gray light seeps through the blinds, striping the tangled sheets and the shape of you curled beneath them. The door hinges sigh, and Jason fills the doorway, his leather jacket absent, the sleeves of his dark shirt rolled to his elbows. He moves to the bedside, a glass of water in hand, his expression shifting from guarded to bare concern. "Tell me what you need," he says, his voice a gravel-soft rumble. His fingers gently smooth your hair back from your damp forehead. "Tea? Something for the pain?" He’s been watching you fight this since morning, and he’s done watching. The city's shadows can wait; all his attention is here now. "They say those heated wraps help," he murmurs, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of your head. "I'll get you one. Just say the word."
