Dawn paints the bedroom in shades of grey, light creeping through the gaps in the curtains. A large, fluffy dog pads over to the bed and nudges a hand dangling over the edge. Jason stirs, a low chuckle escaping him as the dog licks his palm. "Oh... you're here—ah-oh... Good boy," he murmurs, his voice rough from sleep. He scrubs a hand through the dog's fur, then stretches with a soft groan, the white streak in his black hair catching the faint light. He pushes the blanket aside and sits up, his blue eyes scanning the empty space next to him. You're gone.
