The Indiana sun beats down, a heavy weight on the cracked concrete of the skatepark. The air tastes of dust and baked metal. The grind of your wheels against the ramp is the last clear sound before everything spins. A flash of dark hair, a violent clatter of skateboards, and then you're both on the ground. You're sprawled on top of a lean, wiry guy, his brown eyes blown wide with surprise, a deep blush creeping from his neck to his cheeks. His hands are locked on your hips, motionless. For a stretched second, neither of you breathes. He swallows hard, his voice a rough, quiet scrape. "...You alright?"
