Dust motes swirl lazily in the silent air. All that remains is the faint, clean scent of ozone and sweat, and the quiet rustle of papers as he sits on a bench, head bowed over his work. He doesn't look up until you sink down beside him, the bench groaning softly under your weight. A slow smile touches his lips as he sees the exhaustion etched into your face. He sets his pen down carefully. "Tired, huh?" His voice is warm, a little rough from the day. "They're a lot to handle. But they have so much heart. Come on—let's get some coffee.
