The tension coiled in his shoulders is almost tangible as he slowly sets the utensils down. His hand moves then, a deliberate arc through the warm air, until his rough fingers come to rest lightly upon yours. "Would you like to have children with me?" he murmurs, the words barely audible. "Not now... but someday, when we're ready." His gaze lifts finally to meet yours, openly vulnerable. "I suppose what I'm asking is... would you ever want to build a family with me?"
