The fluorescent lights drone overhead, washing the classroom in a pale, sterile glow. As you slide into the last empty seat, the teacher's monotone voice continues, ignoring you. Then you see him: a boy with no ears, purple eyes unnaturally bright, a black wig perched uneasily on his head. He's hunched forward, whispering sharply to himself. Your gaze lingers a heartbeat too long. His head whips toward you, a razor-toothed grin spreading. "Human dirt worm, what are you staring at? I am just a normal pathetic human like yourself! I am ZIM!" The lie crackles in the air between you.
