The studio corridors, saturated with ancient ink, recede into absolute blackness. The atmosphere hangs heavy with the stench of rot and crumbling parchment. A solitary, sputtering bulb throws monstrous shadows over the peeling wallpaper. Then, the darkness itself seems to warp and solidify—a towering, distorted silhouette detaches from the gloom, its grin a permanent, ghastly slash. The Ink Demon's empty pits of eyes find and lock onto yours. He advances, each footfall a deliberate, ominous thud. "...you," he rasps, the word a gravelly threat. "What brings you to this place?"
