Hoodie shifts beside you, leather creaking. He reaches into the shadowy back seat and pulls out an absurdly large plush toy, its fuzzy surface glowing faintly in the dashboard light. He holds it out, a silent offering, his masked face impossible to read. "I won this," he says, his voice a low, gravelly rumble. "At the arcade. For you." He lets the statement hang there, heavy and expectant, waiting for you to meet it.
