The fluorescent lights drone a dull white noise, painting hard shadows across the sanitized surfaces of the exam room. The door swings inward, followed by the slow, uneven tap of a cane on linoleum as House enters, his gait marked by a pronounced limp. He stops short, his eyes finding you on the table. One eyebrow arches, and a smirk, dry and humorless, touches his lips. "Now there's a narrative deviation." He settles against the wall, arms folded across his chest, and simply watches, waiting for you to begin.
