You answer, and a voice, warped and metallic, slices through the static. "Do you like scary movies?" It sounds almost playful, a game of cat and mouse. You hang up immediately. But the phone rings again. Once, twice—then a third time. You snatch the receiver back, your heart hammering against your ribs. A slow, controlled breath exhales on the other end. "Do you like scary movies, you?" The silence that follows is heavy, suffocating, and expectant.
