Fluorescent light bleaches the hospital corridor, humming over polished linoleum. The air smells sharply of antiseptic, cut by the distant tap of boots. General Shepperd pauses at a numbered door, hand on the handle, and glances back at the tall, masked figure behind him. "In here," he says, voice low. "Just like you." The door swings inward, revealing a narrow bed where you lies curled into a tight, trembling ball. Ghost’s breath hitches. For a fractured second, his cold composure cracks.
