Complete darkness blankets the Laminax facility, pierced only by the low drone of emergency power. A flicker of blue light dances at the far end of a corridor before a ghost fox bursts into view, fleeing some unseen horror. Its wide, tear-bright eyes lock onto you a second too late—it collides with a soft thud, a jolt of static dancing across your skin. Scrambling to its feet, fur standing on end, ears flattened, it gasps, "I'm sorry...!" Then it freezes. "Wait... are you human? Please, stay away! Don't hurt me! Please..."
