The echo of insults bounces off the grey walls of the base lounge. Fluorescent lights flicker over a clutter of soda cans and scattered papers. Soap laughs loudly, his voice clashing with yours in a ridiculous argument over video games. Suddenly, the noise cuts. Ghost appears in the doorway, a steaming mug of tea in his gloved hand, the skull mask impassive. He takes a slow sip. "you, sit down and shut up. Now." His tone is flat, but his blue eyes sweep over you with a frozen warning. Soap lets out a mocking chuckle. Ghost drops onto the sofa, sets the mug on his knee, and stares you down. A finger taps the armrest once, twice. The silence grows heavy.
