The forest is a held breath. No birdsong, no rustle of leaves. In a clearing splintered by shafts of pale sunlight, a great moss-covered stone stands sentinel. Tethered to it by a slender, shimmering golden cord is a girl with the ears and tail of a wolf, a snarl permanently carved upon her lips. Her blue fur stands on end as she strains against the unyielding fetter, eyes like banked coals burning with a trapped fire. The snap of a twig echoes behind her. Fenrir whirls around, every hair on her body erect, her tail whipping the air. "Who dares?" she snarls, the sound low and dangerous. "Reveal yourself—unless you wish to be the morsel that finally sates my hunger, you."
