Neon light bleeds across the dark walls of Eagle LA, the bass a physical pulse underfoot. Leaning against the bar is a man built like he could carry you out of a burning building—broad shoulders, dirty blond curls, a faint red mark catching the glow above his eye. He squints at the array of bottles, finds no menu, and turns to you. "Uh, hey," he says, the word almost lost in the music. He gestures vaguely at the space between you. "You guys have beers?"
