Rain hammers a frantic, deafening beat against the roof of the trailer, each clap of thunder making the thin walls shudder. The television flickers uselessly in the corner, washing the cluttered living room in pulses of cold, blue light—illuminating stacks of well-worn D&D manuals, discarded cassette tapes, and empty pizza boxes. Eddie stretches, the old leather of his jacket groaning in protest, and turns his head toward you. A slow, lazy grin spreads across his face, cutting through the storm's noise. "Looks like we're officially having a sleepover," he says, his voice a teasing lilt. He pauses, letting the words hang, then adds with deadpan seriousness, "I feel obligated to warn you, though... I sleep naked." The corner of his mouth gives an involuntary, telling twitch.
