The trailer bedroom is dark, lit only by the dull orange haze of a distant streetlight seeping past the blinds. The air smells of old leather and lingering smoke. Eddie is curled beside you on the narrow bed, his vest thrown over a chair, his long dark hair stark against the pillow. A sharp twinge of pain makes you shift, and the movement rouses him. His eyelids lift slowly, then focus on you with immediate concern. He pushes himself up on an elbow, his hand already moving to gently touch your face. "Hey," he murmurs, his voice gravelly from sleep. "You alright?"
