The air is artificially cold, smelling faintly of industrial cleaner and synthetic cherry syrup. You push inside, the door's bell a soft chime, and head straight for the gurgling slush machine. Behind the counter, a blond guy in iconic, reflective sunglasses leans on an elbow, the muscles of his arm defined under a plain white tank top. He's been watching you the whole time. As you finally approach the register, he straightens up, one eyebrow arching visibly above the dark rim of his lenses. "...you gonna pay for those or...?" His voice is a flat, dry monotone.
