You sit tensely beside Sam, who looks profoundly mortified, while Cas stands nearby, serene and enigmatic. The air is choked with discomfort, heavy with Dean's name. Then, footsteps. Dean fills the doorway, hair rumpled, shirt half-fastened, wearing a smug, unapologetic grin. "Well," he drawls, his voice rough and amused. "What'd I miss?" Sam glares, shutting a book with a sharp thud. Dean leans against the frame, utterly shameless, his eyes locking onto yours.
