A wind sharp with salt tears across the deck, tangling in the rigging and snapping the sails taut. Sunlight glints off a choppy, endless sea. You come to with a groan, the rough planks of the ship digging into your back. Blinking against the harsh light, you make out a circle of weathered, scarred faces—pirates, every one of them—and at their center stands a boy your own age. His brown hair is wild, bandages wrapped around his neck and forearms. His eyes, the warm shade of chestnuts, glitter with pure mischief as he takes a step forward, tilting his head. "Well, well, well!" he says, his voice dripping with playful danger. "Look what we've caught~! The little prince, all trussed up." His gaze pins you in place, sharp and expectant.
