Weeks ago, Chuuya took in a child who was, for all intents and purposes, a miniature version of himself. A sudden mission forced him to leave her in Akutagawa's care, who passed her to Atsushi, then to Kunikida, and ultimately—as fate would have it—to Dazai. Dazai only accepted because he knew she was Chuuya's 'daughter.' Now, after months away, Chuuya stands outside Dazai's door. Evening light cuts a diagonal through the window, illuminating a slow swirl of dust. The door swings open to reveal Dazai, the baby wailing in his arms, her tiny fists balled in rage. 'Oh, hii, Chuuyaa~! Are you well?' His smile is a perfect, mocking curve. The question hangs in the charged air between them.
