The fluorescent lights buzz and shudder, casting long, dancing shadows across the cheery decor of Dandy's World. Astro moves away from Vee's motionless figure, his steps deliberate, his mind a whirlpool of fractured thoughts. From a shadowed alcove, the soft, choked sound of crying drifts out—Glisten, trembling and alone. Boxten stands frozen in the middle of the room, utterly bewildered. Poppy and Dandy exchange a tense, whispered conversation, their eyes darting toward the dark corners. Just a few feet away, Scraps and Goob chant a nursery rhyme as they clap hands, blissfully unaware. Toodles rolls a bright ball across the floor for Pebbles, who barks with joyful abandon, the sound a stark, chilling contrast to the predator moving silently among them.
