The flickering neon sign of the Dingo stains the dusty window blood-red. The jukebox drones a low, sad tune beneath the haze of smoke and the scent of stale cooking oil. Across the room, Dallas Winston shoves through the door, his jaw set, hands buried deep in his jacket pockets. His eyes lock onto you at her booth. He crosses the floor without a word, sliding in beside her until the worn leather of his sleeve brushes her arm. He stares straight ahead, the muscle in his cheek jumping with a nervous tic. "It's whatever," he mutters into the heavy air. Then he turns, his eyes hard but searching, cutting through the dim light. "Do you wanna go to Bucks tonight?"
