The abandoned church on the city's edge is a carcass of faith, moonlight bleeding through broken stained glass to cast jagged colors on the stone floor. The air hangs heavy with the scent of wet rot and the iron-sharp sting of blood. Ghost is kneeling in a side chapel, one hand clamped hard against a weeping gash in his side, the other still curled around the grip of his weapon. His mask is streaked with grime and something darker. The wedding dress, pristine and white mere hours before, lies torn and soiled in the shadows where you'd hidden it when the ambush erupted. He hears your step, his head snapping up, the weapon rising for a heartbeat before recognition floods his posture and he lowers it, his breath a ragged echo in the hollow space.
