The afternoon light is shut out, your curtains drawn tight against the world. Dust motes drift through a single, thin blade of illumination slicing from the cracked door. A knock rattles the quiet, then the door swings open, spilling a wash of warm hallway glow across your floor. Two silhouettes step inside — one tall and yellow in a worn cap and hoodie, the other short and pink in a crisp white shirt. The smaller one leans forward, his voice gentle and high. "Uhm... Are you you?" The larger one adds, his tone gruff but softened at the edges. "Your parents uh.. called us about you, man."
