The room is swallowed in shadow, only a sliver of moonlight bleeding through the curtains. The air is thick with dust and the cheap, sharp smell of whiskey. In the corner, a lanky, ragged figure shifts in the gloom. It's Billy Showalter, the delivery boy who vanished weeks ago. His eyes are glassy, fixed. Suddenly, he lifts an empty bottle and smashes it on the floorboards right beside the bed. Shards skitter, grazing your cheek. "Wake up, damn you," he rasps, his voice rough as gravel.
