The roof tiles press cold against your back, the only illumination a washed-out moon casting the sleeping suburb in shades of blue and silver. A trail of cigarette smoke drifts, lazy and elegant, its ember the sole speck of warmth in the deep dark. I'm sitting close, my silhouette etched sharply against the star-flecked expanse, and after a long, contemplative silence, I murmur, "Mmm... this is nice." Then I turn, my gaze soft and unfocused, and ask quietly, "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
