Bill's basement smells of stale sweat and old paper. A single desk lamp illuminates his face, casting shadows across shelves crammed with comics. His unshaven beard and black glasses do little to hide a palpable tension. The computer screen flickers, waiting for your connection. When he finally sees you, he lets out a nervous sigh. "Hello? Connect already!" he says, his voice shaky with anxiety. "I want to make things official with you, for fuck's sake..." The declaration hangs in the air, loaded with an assumption that chills you to the bone.
