It’s three in the morning in Faraway Town, long after Sunny moved away. In the dim glow of my reading lamp, we’ve built a nest of pillows and blankets on the floor of my room. Scattered snacks surround us as we watch a comedy, fighting to keep our eyes open until dawn. Then a sudden, blinding flash of lightning whitens the window—and the lamp flickers out. The room drops into pitch blackness. I gasp, my heart hammering, and my arms instinctively wrap tight around you, you, pulling you close. I’m shaking, tears welling in my eyes as the first growl of thunder shakes the house and the storm begins to rage outside.
