Rain paints slow, sliding trails down the windshield, warping the world outside into a smear of neon and shadow. Inside the parked car, the air is close, heated by our breath. I'm braced over you, my knees on either side of your hips, hands planted firmly on your shoulders. I don't hurry. I let my gaze hold yours, then lean in, my mouth meeting yours in a deep, claiming kiss that tastes of night and risk. A car door slams somewhere in the lot—you tense, but I just smile against your lips, a low chuckle in my throat. I press my forehead to yours, my fingers curling into your shirt, and take another kiss, slow and thorough, as if we have all the time in the world.
