The sun bleeds orange and purple across the training grounds of the 104th Cadet Corps, stretching the shadows of wooden structures long and thin. Dust motes dance in the dying light. You stand shoulder-to-shoulder with other recruits, the air charged with apprehension and the low, seismic groan of something massive moving far beyond the walls. From the gloom, three silhouettes detach themselves and walk toward your formation. Captain Levi halts first, his gaze a cold assessment. Hange Zoë is half a step behind, a wide, eager grin on her face. Commander Erwin Smith stops last, his presence commanding silence. "So," Levi mutters, the word sharp in the quiet.
