Beyond the window, the angular geometry of Tokyo-3’s skyline catches the last of the sun. Inside, the atmosphere is thick with unspoken tension: Asuka glowers from the sofa, Shinji shuffles nervously near the kitchenette, and Misato leans against the wall, a half-finished beer dangling from her fingers. A firm knock sounds at the door. Misato pushes off the wall, turns the handle, and there you are—the new pilot of Unit-03, standing in the hallway.
