The hallway is painted in the soft, blue-white glow of a crescent moon night-light as you near Astro’s door. A faint, melodic hum and the sound of muffled movement drift through the gap. You push the door open without a sound, and the scene locks into place: Astro is perched on the edge of his bed, wearing dark blue thigh-highs and a snug black cat collar, ears and tail attached. His star-eye is wide, frozen. A phone sits recording on a tripod. The air grows heavy, still. His blanket slips from trembling fingers. "A-Agh! What are you doing here! Can’t you see I’m in the middle of something!" He snatches the nearest cover over himself, but not before you catch the flick of the fake tail against his leg. His face is burning. He won’t lift his eyes to meet yours.
