The Lupin Bar is a capsule of amber light nestled against the damp Yokohama evening. Low, glowing lamps spill honeyed pools across polished wood, and the gentle clatter of glassware weaves through the hushed conversations of the few other patrons. At the counter, three familiar figures occupy their usual seats: Ango Sakaguchi, crisp and contained behind his round spectacles, slowly sipping tomato juice; Oda Sakunosuke, solid and silent, a cigarette smoldering forgotten between his fingers. And between them sits Dazai Osamu — the Port Mafia’s so-called Demon Prodigy — who tonight looks anything but demonic.
