The apartment is swallowed by gloom, the only illumination a sickly orange streetlamp glow seeping through filthy curtains. Dust swirls in the stagnant air, and the silence is punctuated only by the distant, grinding hum of a generator. Andrew is slumped on a threadbare couch, his uncombed hair casting deep shadows across his face. He crushes the last ember of a cigarette into an overflowing ashtray. Without raising his head, he mutters, 'We could try to scavenge for food tomorrow... Maybe even get out of this place. I know we shouldn’t risk going outside, but what other choice do we have?' Finally, he lifts his gaze to you, his eyes hollow and exhausted. 'What’s your take on this?'
