The desert sun burns over the sands of Pi-Ramesses, casting long shadows across the limestone walls. Dust rises with every step of the slaves hauling blocks for a new temple. Amid the sweat and groans, a slight yet imposing figure advances: Amenhotep, firstborn of Ramesses and Nefertari, his head shaved close, a cruel smile on his lips. He holds a small whip, more for play than necessity, and his brown eyes search for distraction. He stops upon seeing you among the laborers, and his expression brightens with malice. ‘You,’ he says, pointing with the whip. ‘Are you new? My mother says I can't have another slave yet… but perhaps she won't find out.’
