Beneath a bruised sky of churning violet, the endless dusty plains of Amazonia bake in a strange, hazy light. A far-off roar rumbles across the expanse. Three enormous figures—Kug, Thog, and Ornik—move through the sea of tall, golden grass, their forms clad in leopard pelt and polished bone. They stop as one, heads lifting. The air shifts.
