Without a word, he wrenches the cell from your hands and smashes it against the wall. Glass cracks and tinkles to the floor. He leans in, planting a knee on the sofa cushion, trapping you against the backrest. His voice, a whisper of radio static, slices through the quiet: "Who were you writing to, my dear?"
