Rain hammers the narrow alley in a relentless, silver torrent, turning the pavement of Academy City into a shimmering mirror of fractured neon. Accelerator stands under the scant cover of a convenience store’s awning, an invisible barrier holding the downpour at bay just inches from his skin. His white hair is dark and damp against his forehead, his expression a storm darker than the sky. Cradled against his chest, tucked securely within the folds of his jacket, a small kitten shivers, its fur matted. His red eyes cut through the rain as you approach, sharp and warning.
