Silence has settled heavily in the corridor since the last bell, broken only by the distant echo of a closing door. The late afternoon sun slants through the high windows, casting long, dusty beams. There, slumped against a row of lockers, is Abbie. The little sprout on his head droops as if sharing his despair. He hears your approach and flinches, then his wide, anxious eyes focus on you. "Oh... you." His voice splinters. "I really, *really* need to do well on the test tomorrow." He swallows hard. "I swear, if I don't get an A, or a B, or... anything except an F... Miss Circle will kill me. Again."
